And so as the sun slowly sets in the West, we bid a fond farewell to South Portland and EM III.
We would like to thank all of you who attended. And we thank you for your kind words and best wishes. But remember, all of the best organization and planning in the world means nothing if the people don't come.
Our grateful thanks to the staff of the Merry Manor Inn for their hospitality and the staff of Govenors Catering for two fine meals. If someone went away hungry, it's their own fault.
While JC, Don, & Jim are retiring from the reunion business, they will stay active in the Eddy Mac Association. JC will continue to host the web site and handle the checkbook. Don (AKA "the Warrant") will continue to look for newbies to sign up. But Jim has decided to hand over his Directory Managment to Mike Fullmer, who graciously volunteered to assume these duties. Our heartfelt thanks to Jim for his many years of service to our shipmates with his directory update broadcasts and snail mailings. We would also like to thank Jim's better half, Donna Latz, for her significant help in procuring the jackets for EM II in Charleston and her enthusiastic help for all three reunions.
As we were hoping, three individuals have tentively stepped forward to look into planning for an EM IV. Since the emphasis is on Tentively, we won't name then just yet to avoid undue pressure. We also think extending the planning time out to three years or so might be a better fit.
So until the next time, keep tuning in for updates and more Eddy Mac related items.
Your shipmates,
John "JC" Collins, Don "The Warrant" Richardson, & Jim "AJ" Latz
