Hi. I'm a member of the commissioning crew, and have lots of great memories of life on the Eddie Mac. We spent months in the shipyards, before and after GITMO. I spent most of my career as an ICFN, and finally made IC3, after several months of mess duties. Saw a lot of the world while aboard. I was shocked, about a year ago, when I learned DE1043 was out of commission. I was also surprised this past Sunday, when I got a phone call from an ex-shipmate, A. Crawford, IC3. Sure was fun talking old times. We both left the ship in 1967. I went back to college, and became a physical educ. teacher, before retiring in 1999. Crawford went to work for AT&T. Hopefully, sometime in the future, I will attend a reunion. I had no idea there was any interest in DE 1043. As we used to say on the quarterdeck, "request permission to come aboard Sir." Take care, Mike Rodee IC3 ret.
